I haven't forgotten about this.
I will be back here soon. I break up for Christmas in two weeks, after much French exam preparation, article critiquing and seminar assessments!

Mini Update
Got a few cards to upload as soon as I can.. I've found my Passport so I've got more time for crafting now (yay!) I've also been working overtime this week and been forgetting to photograph my cards. But I will. And hope to tonight. Hopefully I will get some good natural light but it's looking really gloomy out there..
Also not sure if I'll have time to take part in kwerners colour challange..ah. I hope so..

I tried something a little different this weekend, card wise. I broke open my 3D handbag stickers and off I went.
Green on green looked too much.. and the pale pink as a background to the bag seemed too pale so I used this as a layer behing the brighter pink, bringing out the colour of the flowers. (I do like to bring out the colours!)
I got the idea of the pink ribbon and brad clips from a magazine.. all you do is cut strips of ribbon off..fold them in half, poke a hole where you want the brad clip to go through (I found I could do this more accurately by measuring with the trimmed ribbon) and then clipped them in place. I really like how they turned out.
Because the ribbon and brad clips stick out from the paper I stuck double sided foam sticky tape to raise the other edges and then stuck it on the white background.
Finally I added a few little gems (including the pink one on the handbag clasp) and that's it :)
I'm not sure when I'm going to get chance to make my next card now..I go on holiday for a week in less than two weeks time and I cannot find my passport so I'm having to turn my house inside out!!
Another animal card.
So here's my third card using a 3D animal sticker as the centre point (well, not exactly centre but you know what I mean). The purple of the Rhino meant it made sense to match with similar tones. I tried adding some yellow to bring out the colour of the horns but it just looked wrong so I left it.
I originally wanted the sticky outty bit to be more cloud shaped with smoother rounder edges..but my scissors just started to ruin the paper so I got my good pinking scissors out and trimmed it down.
I used brad clips on the right handside to contrast with the purples and then purple gems on the left handside to go with the ribbon. I think that's it.. after paper punching the corners! (Which I think would have looked better with smoother lines on the rhino background!) :)

Hey
I've not forgotten about you! It's been a busy week (for a change) and I've been shattered throughout it. I honestly don't know how mums find time for crafting!
Just to illustrate my lack of time, here's how my weeks been:
Monday, work 8.30-4.30, tea, poker 7.30-11.00
Tuesday, work 8.30-4.30, dad's at 6.00-10.00 (and left them to go home to bed because I was so tired!)
Wednesday, work 8.30-4.30, went to Ian's parents house to look after his nan for the night.
Thursday (yesterday), work 8.30-4.30, had to see a nurse just before the end of work and had 4 antibiotics that made me feel queezy to say the very least so I ended up driving home and snuggled up in bed watching The OC at 5pm!! Then we had a takeaway because I really didn't feel like cooking or doing anything and watched Mr Bean's Holiday (which was AWFUL).
So here I am today. At work, until 4.30. Unless I stay late. Which I ought to do for the money but the chances are very very slim. I'm too eager to go home and chill/be crafty. And tonight I have a few hours to do that.
(I have during the course of the week managed to complete one card...however I forgot my camera lead so I can't upload it until I get home..!)

Princess card!
My dad's girlfriend has this little bag template and she let me borrow it to make a template for myself.. so naturally I had to make a card from it immediately. I made the bag itself in THE brightest pink Bazzill card I have for my cousin's third birthday. She loves bags and dressing up in 'princess dresses' so I thought this'd work a treat.I used my PaperMania 3D Stickers for embellishments..the 'Princess' fit just perfectly on the flap..likewise with the horse and carriage on the main bag section (although it was a bugger to put on with the two being connected by the tiniest strip in the middle! I had to hold the carriage in my right hand while holding the horse with tweezers in my left and someone managed to stick it down in one piece!)
The flowers on the corners are also from the set..although I added my 'Bling' gems to them. Naturally I added a baby pink ribbon for the handle..making small slots through the fold of the card with a craft knife to slip the ends of the ribbon into. :)
The animals went in two by two..hurrah! hurrah!
I bought these adorable little PaperMania 3D Stickers and was dying to use them..so I have :) a couple of them anyway. Going to do the other ones when I get chance.
Anyway, I thought I'd pick out the blues from the elephant to make a blue card, and one that's cute so could be used for a younger boy or a even a girl (which I thought would work by adding the gems and ribbon to make it more unisex).
Then I just paper punched the stars, stuck them in the corners and paper punched the corners of the card for a child-friendly and smoother look. :)
For the giraffe as you can see I did aimilar sort of thing except this time I added a window beneath the main one as a backdrop to the name..which I did in brown to match the patches on the giraffe. And also went for contrasting blue and yellow for a bolder look.
